It’s no secret that Bourjois healthy mix foundation has been a beauty favourite for years. They have recently improved the formula and launched new packaging for this product.
I wear this foundation a lot as it hydrates skin and it’s really light, it sinks into the skin beautifully. The finish is dewy, fresh and makes skin look flawless, without looking or feeling cakey. I apply this using a damp beauty blender, I feel this works better than a brush. It’s a really comfortable foundation to wear, I can barely feel it on my skin. The coverage is light but can be built up to medium. I use 2 pumps for my entire face, although sometimes I only use 1 depending on how much coverage I need.
The only thing I dislike about this foundation, is the staying power. It claims to last 16 hours but that’s definitely not the case. It tends to come off my nose and chin pretty quickly compared to some of my other drugstore foundations however it lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin which isn’t bad!
The new packaging for this product is classy, sleek and looks high-end. I love the fact they have kept the pump and using a glass bottle makes it feel more luxurious.
What else has changed apart from the packaging? They have improved the formula by adding ingredients and vitamins to give that fresh glowing complexion for dull tired looking skin. After wearing the new formula for a few days, it’s just as lovely as the old, I haven’t noticed a visible difference to be honest.
The healthy mix concealer is one of my favourites for under eye circles, it doesn’t sink into lines or look heavy and brightens the area really well. The new packaging in my opinion is better than the old, I like that’s in a glass bottle too with Bourjois printed on the side – it’s the little details like that make a difference. It’s really easy to apply and its easier to control the amount you use compared to the old packaging which was in a squeeze tube.
Over all, I think it’s a strong contender for one the best drugstore foundations – if you want a light coverage, with a dewy finish. If you like a full coverage foundations with a matte finish, I wouldn’t recommend this for you. I also wouldn’t suggest this for oily skin, it’s best for dry to combination. Although, I think the concealer would be great for any skin type.
What do you all think of this foundation?
