We always plan what make up to take on holiday, just like we do with outfits! I wanted to keep my holiday make up fresh, simple and glowing… basically quick and easy so my boyfriend wasn’t moaning about how long I took to get ready. We all know what I’m talking about! They don’t seem to grasp how important it is for us to have flawless make up!
I changed my normal routine slightly, I skipped foundation and my usual black winged eyeliner which was really difficult as I usually can’t live without these!
Products I used;
Mac Prep & Prime Fix+
I spritz this all over my face, and then wait a few seconds for it to dry. It gives me a fresh face that primes ready for my make up.
Next step, L’Oréal True Match Highlight in Golden Glow.
This is a multi task product, it illuminates, primes and highlights. I applied this all over my face using a beauty blender that I sprayed with fix+. It gave me a subtle glow that worked well with the tan I was getting!
As I skipped foundation, I needed a concealer that I could trust. Maybelline The Eye Eraser in Light. This concealer is popular among bloggers and make up lovers, it has amazing coverage blends into the skin perfectly so I can see why. The brush applicator it comes with gives a smooth application. I put this under my eyes, down my nose, the middle of my forehead and my cupids bow then blended into my skin with a beauty blender.
Beautiful Benefit Hoola Bronzer, my HG bronzer. I definitely wasn’t going on holiday without this. I swept this over the tops of my cheekbones, the sides of my forehead, down my nose and on my chin. This was my favourite step as it enhanced my tan and I felt like a golden goddess. This bronzer is one of Benefits most famous products. It suits most skin tones, it’s not orange and sits on the skin beautifully. I applied this with a big bronzer/powder brush.
Of course, I had to highlight. What else better than my Sleek Highlight Palette ‘Solstice’. This is the perfect holiday highlight, as it has golden and pink shades so you have choice! This product gives such a strong highlight and it truly makes skin look amazing!! I apply this using a blusher brush, on all the high points of my face.
Then for my cheeks, I used my Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice. This palette has the easiest shades to work with, I try to match my eye look with the tone of blusher I use. I chose to use peachy shade the most (bottom left corner).
I then do my eyebrows, my least favourite part to do as I still haven’t mastered my perfect brow. I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow. I apply with my real techniques slanted brush, I shape my eyebrows and then fill in any gaps.
Onto the eyes! Revolution eyeshadow palette in New-trals vs Neutrals. This is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes, it has all the nudes you need. Browns, pinks, oranges, golds and greys. I was using the golden and orange shades the most, as they complimented my tan.
To finish off my eyes, I used my new favourite mascara, which you can ready my full review here http://byob-beauty.com/product-review-loreal-volume-million-lashes-fatale/
Last but not least, lips! I went between two lipsticks. Mac Velvet Teddy and Rimmel Kate Moss in 56 Boho Nude. They are both gorgeous nudes but have different finishes. Boho nude gives a satin finish and Velvet Teddy is a matte finish. Both shades are perfect for a natural looking holiday lip. I didn’t want bright colours on my lips, as I only wore make up in the evening and I didn’t want to have to keep reapplying my lipstick after eating and drinking. Nudes fade better and its less obvious when they are coming off!
My holiday make up took 10 minutes to do. So yes, my boyfriend was happy.
