New Years Eve 2016!
It’s been a while since my last blog, I’ve been working non stop, those of you who work in retail will understand how busy it gets this time of year. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and got everything you asked Santa for!
So, it’s the last day of the year, 2016 will soon just be full memories while we create new ones in 2017. NYE has always been a night that I look forward to celebrating. It’s so much fun to see the new year in with your friends, with happy faces and some serious dance moves. Start the year, as you mean to go on, full of positivity and happiness.
The fun begins with deciding what to wear, and how to do your hair and make up! We all love a good pamper session before a big night out! A soak in the bath, exfoliate, moisturise, fake tan ,nails, face masks, the lot – us girls know how to feel good.
I have decided to go for a gorgeous little black dress from Zara which I picked up in the sale for £21.66! Such a bargain. I thought as I’m wearing black, a nude lip with a strong red eye will go perfectly. I curled my hair, as usual for a night out, you can’t go wrong with curls! 🙂
Products I used for my face;
Barry M Glowmance Soft Focus Primer– I wanted fresh glowing skin, so this primer was perfect as it adds the most beautiful glow without looking shiny.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation mixed with Maybelline BB bronzer – for my base I went for fit me foundation as this is really good for controlling oil and its a lightweight foundation which is great because I don’t like my make up to feel heavy on my skin. As I have fake tan on, I mixed in a little of the Maybelline bb bronzer to warm it up slightly so my face still matched my body.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer – my holy grail bronzer! I used this to warm up my face and add a bit of definition to my cheeks. I also used a tiny bit of this on the apples of my cheeks as my blush.I find this bronzer is a flattering shade, as it’s not muddy or orange looking! I decided not to do a strong contour, as honestly I was too lazy.
Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette – I’m not liking my eyebrows at all at the moment, they are just not doing as they are told! I used a real techniques slanted brush to apply the powder using soft strokes to define my brows and give them a bit more shape. I then used Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara over the top to set them in place whilst adding fullness to the brows.
Revolution Highlighting Palette – this highlighting palette is utterly stunning. I used the two lightest shades swirled together, using my fan brush to apply on tops of cheek bones, down the nose, and cupids bow. I added extra on cheek bones because I wanted the highlight to be really intense. I love a highlight.
Mac Nut Cracker Sweet Eye Pigments – I blogged about these because they are amazing, check it out here. I used the peach shade just as a base and then worked in mac brick red single eye shadow into the crease, corners of my eyes, and along my bottom lash line. I absolutely love this eye shadow, it’s everything!
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – this is the only mascara I’ve used recently. It does exactly what I want from a mascara, you can read more about this product in my current favourites.
Mac Liquid Lipstick ‘Tuned in’ – as my eyes are quite strong, I wanted the lips to be a bit more natural. This one is perfect as it comes off the lips evenly!
Ok, so that’s pretty much the face complete but I used a few products on my body to add a glow and a sparkle. Its NYE so why not.
For my body I used;
Tanya Burr Body Illuminator – I applied this liberally to my arms, shoulders, collar-bone and legs. This makes the skin looks super glowy and healthy. It also makes skin look great in photos. Smells amazing too.
The Body Shop ‘The Sparkler’ in Gold Glimmer – this is a bottle full of shimmer that you can puff out onto the skin where you want to add extra sparkle. I puffed this ono my collar-bone and down the front my legs.
A spritz of your favourite perfume, slip on your heels, grab your clutch bag and we are ready to celebrate new years eve!
I wish you all the best for 2017!
